Here are a few players that I will be targeting on the waiver wire this week who are currently available in most leagues and some other notes that I find useful:
- On Thursday, MLB rosters will expand from 26 to 28 players, with each team allowed to roster 1 extra pitcher. Expect more teams to switch to a 6-man rotation and others to utilize each bullpen arm less frequently.
-More on 6-man rotations, the Los Angeles Dodgers are expected to activate Clayton Kershaw (SP, 96% owned) and the Detroit Tigers are expected to activate Michael Pineda (SP, 3% owned). Both teams could easily utilize an extra starting pitcher.
- Four teams are scheduled to play 7 games this week: the Arizona Diamondbacks, Boston Red Sox, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Milwaukee Brewers.
- On the other side of things, two teams are scheduled to play only 5 games: The Houston Astros and the Tampa Bay Rays.
